    18/11/2011 U15 A County Hurling Eochaill 3-12 Mayfield 1-7

    Killeagh was the venue for the A Grade County Final where we played Mayfield. This was a repeat of the East Region Final. Youghal entered this game on a high after overcoming a strong Kanturk side the previous week in Copperalley by 1 point. The game started at a blistering pace with Ollie Dempsey finding the Mayfield net after 5 minutes. Mayfield responded by putting the Youghal backline under huge pressure, they led o-7 to 1-1 midway through. Kash Ransom in goals had another fine game, with Conor Hennessy at full back and Sean Farrell and Harry Oliphant in the corners working hard to keep the Mayfield attack at bay. When Matthew Farrell moved to center forward the game turned Youghals way. Ollie Dempsey scored a great goal after good work in the corner by Cormac O’Callaghan who provided the perfect ball. The half time score was Youghal 2-5 Mayfield 1-7.

     
    The second half saw Youghal step it up and with the half back line of Bill McGrath, Chris Morrison, and Rory Walsh in control with the help of the hard working midfield pairing of Andrew Joyce and Lenny Flynn. The score of the game came after good play from Danny Walsh and Ryan Coady who set up Ollie Dempsey. The final score came after Matthew Farrell broke the ball to Darragh O’Connell who picked out Ollie Dempsey to finish the game in style. The Final whistle was greeted with joy by all involved with Eochaill Og. The final score was Youghal 3-12 Mayfield 1-7.
     
    Captain Ollie Dempsey accepted the Cup on behalf of the Youghal team where he thanked Killeagh for the use of their pitch, Coiste Na og, parents and supporters, team mates and trainers.
