    Féile Peil 2011

     
     
    CLG Eochaill has been selected as a host club in the 2011 Féile Peil which will be held in Cork from Thursday June 29th to Saturday July 1st. Eochaill Óg will play in Division 3 of what in essence is the All-Ireland Championship for under 14s, while our newly formed Girls U14 team will play in Division 4. This is a fantastic honour for the Club especially when our own Clubman is Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Criostóir Ó Cuana.

    12/03/2011 - 2 Youghal Teams in Féile na Peil

    It was confirmed last night that Eochaill will be represented by 2 teams in this year's Féile na Peil which is being held in Cork from June 29th to July 1st. In addition to our U14 Footballers who will play in Division 3, our recently formed U14 Girls Footballers were entered into Division 4. This is a fantastic honour for our Club and also for all of the players who will play in the All-Ireland Championship for U14s.
    We we also be hosting 2 teams where the visting players will stay with host families, the girls team will be the Leitrim champions while our visting boys team still has to be identified.
    Over the weekend Magners Hill will be a hive of activities with matches during the day and entertainment for our vistors, Club members and friends in the evenings.

    Féile Peil na nÓg is a national festival of Gaelic football for boys and girls under 14 years of age. It was first held in Cavan in 1982, the brainchild of Fintan Tierney of Butlersbridge. 
    Féile Peil na nÓg places great emphasis and importance on proper participation, presentation, punctuality and sportsmanship. Féile involves the whole community, clubs, schools, social and cultural groups, families, civic and religious authorities. It is recognised by the GAA as a major festival of great importance for the promotion of football among the youth of our country. Féile Peil na nÓg helps to bond communities, forge friendships, provide educational opportunities and unearth new leaders.
